Internal Controls Specialist
For our partner, one of the most important leaders in the automotive industry, we are looking for an Internal Controls Specialist to join the Romanian team, based in Bucharest.


Responsibilities:
  • Leading efforts in control certification, testing, and training to ensure adherence to the internal control methodology, and assisting with the onboarding of new entities.
  • Coordinating with group and regional colleagues to provide risk and control-related training, and promoting the sharing of best practices.
  • Designing and deploying controls, supporting and coordinating control standardisation efforts across the European region to improve mature levels and control culture.
  • Assisting regional and local management in improving their internal control environment in line with internal control methodology guidelines and internal audit recommendations.
  • Overseeing the implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of internal control tools and the global portal, ensuring it is used effectively as a communication tool.
  • Fostering the integration of internal controls and risk management activities with other support functions such as compliance and insurance.
  • Coordinating the assessment of internal control issues and monitoring remediation activities, providing necessary advice and insights on adjustments and mitigations.
  • Facilitating effective governance through Regional Risk Management Forums, and leading risk identification and assessment discussions with the regional and local leadership team.
  • Providing support to process owners and control owners in any control-related matters, ensuring they have the necessary guidance and resources.

Expertise:
  • 7+ years of relevant experience, with a background in audit, internal control, or finance.
  • In-depth knowledge of internal control management, rationalisation, process management, risk assessment, issue management, internal audit, and compliance best practices.
  • Experience with various compliance frameworks (e.g., SOX, COBIT, ITIL) and COSO principles as well as a regulated environment. Also, work experience in SAP is highly appreciated.
  • Demonstrated the ability to effectively manage and prioritise multiple or competing projects.
  • Proven track record of guiding and influencing stakeholders through all levels of seniority in the organisation to drive a culture of control improvement.
  • English – Advanced level.
